JOHNSON CITY-The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested and charged a Limestone woman in connection to a theft investigation.

During 2013, Sara Ruth Hensley was employed by Lighthouse Independent Living in Greeneville as a residential house manager. In that capacity, she was responsible for the residential finances signed out by the company for the paying of bills and other day-to-day expenses for the residents in her care. An audit and subsequent investigation revealed Hensley, 26, had been stealing residential finances from two victims’ accounts for her own personal use throughout 2013.

The TBI began investigating on September 3rd, after the company reported the issue to Adult Protective Services.

Hensley faces two counts of Theft of Property under the Amount of $500 and one count of Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation of an Impaired Adult. At the time of this release, she was being held in the Greene County Correctional Facility on a $15,000 bond. Hensley was subsequently dismissed from Lighthouse Independent Living.

The Tennessee Department of Human Services’ Adult Protective Services Unit and the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities assisted in the investigation.
