JOHNSON CITY-The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested and charged a Greeneville man for assaulting an impaired man in his care.
23-year-old Seth Soltau faces one count of Aggravated Assault and one count of Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation of an Impaired Adult. The Greeneville man worked as a support staff caregiver at Sunrise Community Services. The facility has since dismissed him.
On September 3 and 4, 2013, on several occasions, TBI agents believe Soltau slapped a resident, a 26-year-old man, on the back and face area numerous times. The investigation further revealed Soltau put his forearm on the victim’s throat area and choked the victim to the point his air was being restricted.
Employees at the Greeneville facility notified the administration of Sunrise Community Services, who in turn contacted Adult Protective Services. The TBI investigated, along with APS and the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
At the time of this release, Soltau was being held in the Greene County Correctional Facility on a $30,000 bond.
