NASHVILLE-The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has captured another fugitive from the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list, Deterines Cortae Cathey, of Columbia, TN.

Cathey was located and arrested without incident by Special Agents of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation along with members of the Middle Tennessee US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. Through routine investigative measures, Cathey was located inside a Murfreesboro apartment complex in Rutherford County during the early morning hours today.

Deterines Cortae Cathey was wanted by the Columbia Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Currently, Columbia Police have charged Cathey with Aggravated Assault, Felony Possession of a Firearm, Coercion of a Witness and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Felony.

On October 19, 2013, after receiving information that his relative was involved in a verbal argument, Cathey went to a residence on East 9th Street in Columbia and assaulted a male victim with a handgun. Additionally, Cathey threatened a witness via text who was present during the altercation.

Cathey is being held at the Rutherford County Jail pending transport to the Maury County Jail.
