FENTRESS COUNTY– A joint investigation by special agent fire investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of a Clarkrange man in connection to a residential fire that occurred on Monday.
On September 21st, TBI special agent fire investigators joined the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office in investigating a fire that occurred at a residence in the 1000 block of N Pointe in Jamestown. During the course of the investigation, authorities gathered evidence indicating the fire had been intentionally set. The investigation identified Clifford Thomas Strunk II (DOB: 05/18/97) as the individual responsible for setting the fire while two people were inside.
Agents obtained an arrest warrant for Strunk, charging him with two counts of Aggravated Arson. He was arrested and booked into the Fentress County Jail.
The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct, not evidence. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.
