DAYTON – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained indictments for a former deputy of the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department who stands accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a teenager.

On May 1st, at the request of 12th District Attorney General J. Michael Taylor, TBI Agents began investigating an alleged rape of a 17-year-old female. As a result of the investigation, Agents developed information leading to Juvencio Dwayne Bustos (DOB 11-27-96) as the man responsible for the crime. The department terminated the deputy’s employment when the allegation surfaced.

On Monday, the Rhea County Grand Jury returned indictments, charging Bustos with one count of Rape, one count of Statutory Rape, and one count of Possession of Schedule III. Today, Bustos surrendered himself to TBI Agents, who subsequently booked him into the Rhea County Jail on $150,000 bond.
