COOKEVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment and arrest of a Monroe man on charges of statutory rape by an authority figure and sexual battery by an authority figure.              

At the request of 13th District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, on February 12, 2015, TBI Special Agents began investigating an allegation of sexual offenses involving a minor victim over the age of 13. During the course of the investigation, Agents identified Travis Puckett as the individual who engaged in sexual contact with the minor victim between the dates of March 1, 2007, and April 30, 2007.

On Monday, the Overton County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Puckett, 36, with three counts of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure and three counts of Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure. Puckett turned himself in to authorities today. He was booked into the Overton County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
