NASHVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Pulaski Police Department has resulted in the indictment of a Giles County Commissioner on statutory rape and sexual exploitation charges.

At the request of 22nd District Attorney General Brent Cooper, in May, TBI Special Agents and detectives with the Pulaski Police Department began investigating allegations of Thomas Campbell having sex with a minor. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that Campbell did have sexual relations with a minor on or around April 9th.

On Wednesday, the Giles County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Campbell, 71, with one count of Aggravated Statutory Rape and two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Campbell was arrested today by TBI Agents, and booked into the Giles County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
