NASHVILLE – A Murfreesboro woman faces theft and forgery charges following a joint effort by Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury.
On November 16, 2015, at the request of 16th District Attorney General Jennings Jones, TBI Agents began investigating information from state auditors informed about an alleged theft of meal ticket money at the Murfreesboro location of the Tennessee State Veterans Homes. During the course of the case, investigators developed information that Marilyn Truss, a former receptionist at the site responsible for the sale of the meal tickets, was the individual responsible for the missing funds.
On March 9th, the Rutherford County Grand Jury returned indictments charging the 58-year-old with one count of Theft and one count of Forgery. Today, authorities booked her into the Rutherford County Jail on $50,000 bond.
