JACKSON – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested and charged a former police officer from the Martin Police Department in connection with an ongoing theft investigation.
On March 6th, at the request of 27th District Attorney General Tommy Thomas, TBI Special Agents began investigating an alleged theft of approximately $18,000 from a bank account established as part of the “Day for Anna Kate” fundraising effort. On several occasions in 2015, financial records indicated sums of money were removed from the bank account, which was established by Guy Pryor, who until recently worked as a police officer for the Martin Police Department. During the course of the investigation, TBI Agents, with the cooperation of the Martin Police Department, developed information that Pryor was responsible for the theft.
Today, Agents, assisted by deputies from the Glynn County (GA) Sheriff’s Department, arrested the 34-year-old Martin man and charged him with one count of Theft over $10,000. At the time of this release he was being held in the Glynn County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
