NASHVILLE – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested a McEwen man on a set of drug-related charges in connection to an ongoing homicide investigation.
On Sunday, at the request of 23rd District Attorney General Ray Crouch, TBI Special Agents, along with the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office, began investigating a homicide which occurred at a home on Trace Creek Road in McEwen. During the course of the investigation, investigators discovered an active methamphetamine lab and developed information that William Michael Hunter was the individual responsible for producing the drug at that location.
Today, TBI Agents arrested the 58-year-old McEwen man and charged him with one count of Initiation of Manufacture of Methamphetamine, one count of Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture, and one count of Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. At the time of this release, he was being held in the Humphreys County Jail on $75,000 bond. The investigation into the homicide continues, with the assistance of the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Department.
