NASHVILLE-The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation assisted the State Comptroller’s Office in an investigation that alleged former Marshall County deputy, Larry G. Hardin, age 59, had stolen tires from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
On January 21, 2014, and at the request of the District Attorney General Robert Carter, TBI began to assist the State Comptroller’s Office in the investigation. Information indicated that Harding had taken tires from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and put the tires on his girlfriend’s vehicle. The tires had an estimated value over $500.
On January 28, 2014, TBI Agents recovered the tires that were allegedly stolen by Hardin. Hardin has since resigned from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
Yesterday, a Marshall County Grand Jury returned an indictment for Theft over $500 and Official Misconduct. Both indictments are felonies. Hardin has been arrested and booked into the Marshall County jail on a $2,500 bond.
