MEMPHIS-The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Perry County woman today that stemmed from a corporate theft investigation.

On May 28, 2013, at the request of the District Attorney General, Hansel McCadams, TBI agents conducted an investigation on Janice M. Duncan, age 60, of Linden, TN. Two businesses were victimized when Duncan generated checks on both companies’ corporate accounts to pay her personal debts. Duncan was employed at a local CPA firm and was responsible for both companies’ financial accounts. Since 2007, both businesses sustained a loss of approximately $217,375 due to Duncan’s thefts.

On January 21, 2014, a Decatur County Grand Jury returned indictments on Duncan for two counts of Theft of Property over $60,000 and one count of Theft of Property over $1,000.

Today, Duncan was arrested by TBI Special Agents and was booked into the Decatur County jail. Janice Duncan was given a bond of $50,000.
