NASHVILLE-The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation placed three defendants into custody after a Decatur County Grand Jury returned indictments for TennCare Fraud on all three individuals.
The TBI Medicaid Fraud Control Unit received a tip and on March 26, 2013, began an eight month long undercover operation at The Family Clinic of Parsons located at 766 Tennessee Avenue South in Parsons, TN. During the investigation, it was discovered that Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Kimberly Inman and her colleague, Season Hughes, a Licensed Nurse Practitioner, had over-prescribed controlled substances to patients as well as prescribed improper controlled substances. Also, they conducted fraudulent billing for services and falsification of medical records related to improper claims of office visits. Kimberly’s husband, James Inman, had knowledge of Kimberly’s and Season’s actions and aided them. Additionally, it was revealed that Season was not licensed to practice as a nurse practitioner.
On January 21, 2014, a Decatur County Grand Jury returned indictments against Kimberly D. Inman, James W. Inman and Season R. Hughes. All three are residents of Parsons, TN. Kimberly D. Inman, age 33, was indicted for the Unlawful Dispense of a Controlled Substance, TennCare Fraud and Criminal Responsibility for Conduct of Another. James W. Inman, age 34, was indicted for TennCare Fraud, Criminal Responsibility for Conduct of Another and Coercion of a Witness. Season R. Hughes, age 30, was indicted for the Unlawful Dispense of a Controlled Substance, TennCare Fraud and Impersonating a Licensed Professional.
Yesterday, TBI Special Agents of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, with the assistance of the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, arrested Kimberly, James and Season. Kim and James were given a $100,000 bond and Season was given a $50,000 bond. All three are being held at the Decatur County Jail. District Attorney General, Hansel McCadams of the 24th Judicial District will be prosecuting this case.
