JACKSON, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today arrested a Haywood County woman for fraudulently obtaining a Tennessee driver license after she was indicted by the Haywood County grand jury yesterday.
Crystal Elaine Williams, 30, of Brownsville, Tenn. was indicted on one count of criminal simulation and one count of forgery. The 28th Judicial District Attorney General requested TBI investigate allegations that a Tennessee Highway Patrol citation receipt had been duplicated. The duplicated receipt was discovered by the Haywood County Clerk’s Office in August of 2013. The investigation revealed that Williams generated a fraudulent receipt on a computer and sent it to the Tennessee Department of Safety as proof of payment for a citation and fraudulently obtained a driver license. Williams’ license had been suspended for nonpayment of her fines. The Tennessee Highway Patrol was also involved in the investigation.
Williams was booked into the Haywood County Jail on $10,000 bond.
