Ashland City- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 4 o’clock this morning.
At the request of the office of Dan Alsobrooks, District Attorney General for the 23rd Judicial District, TBI agents launched a shooting investigation with assistance from the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office. David Allen Neisz Jr., 35, of Kingston Springs, TN, shot his brother, Scotty Wayne Neisz, 39, of Westmoreland, TN, several times with a handgun while they were in Ashland City near the intersection of Petway Road and Harpeth Crossing. After being shot, Scotty Neisz drove himself to the Centennial/Tri-Star Medical Center in Ashland City for treatment and was later transferred to Vanderbilt Hospital. David Neisz Jr. was located by deputies of the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office and was taken into custody. David Neisz Jr. was treated at Centennial /Tri-Star Medical Center for an injury to his hand.
David Neisz Jr. was charged with one count of Attempted First Degree Murder and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was determined to be the primary aggressor; however, the immediate circumstances for this incident are still under investigation.
David Neisz Jr. was booked into the Cheatham County Jail with no bond.
