Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the White County Sheriff’s Office investigated a case of child abuse over the weekend that resulted in a White County man being arrested for abusing a two-year-old boy.
Andrew Clayton Parker, 25, of Sparta was charged last night with aggravated child abuse of a child under six years of age, a class A felony. Two-year-old Maxom Everhart, of Sparta was transported from his him to the White County hospital yesterday by his mother and Parker at approximately 4:00 p.m. with a broken arm, bruising and a brain injury. Parker is the boyfriend of the child’s mother and they live together at a residence on Old Kentucky Road. Everhart was transported to Vanderbilt Medical where he is in stable condition in the intensive care unit. Parker was alone with Everhart when the incident occurred. The child’s mother was at work.
Parker was booked into the White County Jail on $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 1, 2013. The TBI, White County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Children’s Services and the 13th District Attorney General’s office were all involved in the investigation.
