DICKSON– An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a former school resource officer in connection to a theft investigation.

On June 5th, at the request of 23rd Judicial District Attorney General Ray Crouch, TBI agents began investigating Kenneth Howard (DOB 5/26/1977). Investigators presented evidence that, while working as a school resource officer for the Dickson Police Department, Howard logged dozens of hours on his time sheet that he never actually worked.

On Tuesday, the Dickson County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Howard with one count of Theft Over $1,000. On Wednesday, he was arrested and booked into the Dickson County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct, not evidence. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.
