GAINESBORO– An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a man in connection to a homicide that occurred in July.
On July 7th, at the request of 15th Judicial District Attorney General Jason Lawson, TBI agents began investigating the death of Terrance Barbour (DOB 9/25/1954) who was discovered deceased at a residence in the 400 block of Mansell Hill Road in Gainesboro. Investigators presented evidence that his nephew, Ryan Parsons (DOB 7/1/1986), is the individual responsible for Barbour’s death.
On Monday, the Jackson County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Parsons with one count of First-Degree Murder, one count of Theft of Property, and one count of Burglary. He was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail with out bond.
The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct, not evidence. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.
