ROBERTSON COUNTY – An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment of a man charged with theft.
In March, TBI agents began investigating allegations of theft involving Nicholas Stepter (DOB 10/10/2006).
On August 20th, agents presented evidence to a Robertson County Grand Jury regarding a washed or forged check deposited at a bank in Madison. That grand jury returned indictments charging Stepter with one count of Attempted Theft over $10,000 under $60,000.
On September 2nd, Stepter turned himself in to the Robertson County Jail where he was booked in on a $20,000 bond.
The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct, not evidence. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.
