At the request of 20th District Attorney General Glenn Funk, TBI Agents continue to independently investigate the circumstances surrounding an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday morning in Nashville.

Preliminary information indicates the incident occurred at approximately 6:00 near the intersection of McKinney Avenue and 18th Avenue North, where officers of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department responded to a call of a domestic disturbance involving a man and two women. When officers encountered the man, identified as Jotez Anderson (DOB 2-5,93), he reportedly pointed a gun at them. The situation escalated and resulted in at least two officers firing their service weapons at Anderson. During the incident, Anderson was struck by gunfire in the hand. Officers subsequently arrested Anderson, who was later hospitalized and listed in stable condition. No law enforcement officers were hurt in the incident.

TBI Agents continue to gather information and evidence in this ongoing investigation and will share findings with the District Attorney General, throughout the process, for his further review.

The TBI does not identify the law enforcement officers involved in these types of incidents.
