SULLIVAN COUNTY – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in charges against two Sullivan County constables.
In February 2019, at the request of 2nd District Attorney General Barry Staubus, TBI Special Agents began investigating allegations of assault involving Ralph T. King (DOB 06/12/36) and Marshall Harrison Buckner (DOB 12/15/57), both of whom are constables in Sullivan County. During the course of the investigation, Agents determined that on February 1, 2019, King and Buckner assaulted an employee at a Kingsport business in the process of executing a Writ of Possession.
Last month, the Sullivan County Grand Jury returned indictments charging both King, below left, and Buckner, below right, with one count of Assault and two counts of Official Misconduct. Today, both men were arraigned on those charges in criminal court.
