LAFAYETTE – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a former employee of a Macon County finance firm accused of abusing her position to steal customer loan payments.

At the request of 15th District Attorney General Tommy Thompson, TBI Agents began investigating Serena Swindle (DOB: 4-1-78) in March of 2019. During the investigation, Agents developed information Swindle stole customer payments totaling approximately $51,000. She resigned when the allegations surfaced.

On Monday, the Macon County Grand Jury returned an indictment, charging the Macon County woman with one count of Theft over $10,000. Agents arrested her today and booked her into the Macon County Jail on $3,500 bond.
