JEFFERSON COUNTY – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of two people on a variety of charges, including criminal simulation, identity theft, and forgery.

In December 2018, at the request of 4th District Attorney General James Dunn, TBI Agents began investigating allegations involving James Bundy and Brenna Cervino. During the course of the investigation, Agents discovered that Cervino forged the signature of a mental health consultant on an evaluation document in order to get James Bundy removed from the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry.

Last week, the Jefferson County Grand Jury returned indictments charging both James Bundy (DOB 05/09/83) and Brenna Cervino (DOB 10/31/82) with one count of Criminal Simulation, one count of Forgery, one count of Identity Theft, one count of Fabricating Evidence, and one count of False Reporting. On Tuesday, Bundy turned himself in and was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a $15,000 bond. This morning, Cervino turned herself in and was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
