PARSONS – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested and charged a subject accused of fleeing law enforcement officers attempting to arrest him.

On December 2nd, at the request of 24th District Attorney General Matt Stowe, TBI Agents began investigating an officer-involved shooting in Decatur County, involving Deputy Marshals with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Preliminary information indicates that Deputy Marshals located Anthony Phoenix (DOB: 2/21/85), wanted on arrest warrants from Henderson County and the State of Kentucky, in the 100 block of Gilbert Road in Parsons.  Phoenix reportedly fled in a vehicle and led officers on a brief pursuit.  At some point, officers fired upon the vehicle.  No one was struck by the gunfire or injured as a result of the officer-involved shooting.

Phoenix was immediately taken into custody and booked into the Decatur County Jail.  Today, he was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Felony Evading Arrest in connection to the December 2nd incident.  He remains in custody at the Decatur County Jail and is being held without bond.
