BIG SANDY – A joint investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Big Sandy Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office into an apparent stabbing death in Big Sandy has resulted in the arrest of a man from the Town of Henry.

At the request of 24th District Attorney General Matt Stowe, TBI Special Agents joined the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Garren D. Crafton (DOB: 10/23/1983) this morning, shortly after officers with the Big Sandy Police Department and Benton County Sheriff’s Office found the man’s body outside of his home on Kay Street. During the course of the investigation, Agents and investigators developed information leading to Jack Anthony Herron as the individual responsible for the crime.

This afternoon, authorities arrested and charged Herron (DOB: 06/26/1984) with one count of Second Degree Murder. He was booked into the Benton County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
