KNOXVILLE – A joint investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of a Newport man on stalking and weapons charges.

On Wednesday, at the request of 4th District Attorney General James Dunn, TBI Special Agents joined the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office in investigating the origin of a threatening note found at the residence of a retired law enforcement officer in Bybee. During the course of the investigation, David Kite Moore (DOB 7/9/57) was identified as the individual responsible.

Today, Moore was arrested and charged with one count of Stalking and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He was booked into the Cocke County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
