CHATTANOOGA – A joint investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Department of Correction Community Supervision Division has resulted in the indictment and arrest of a Rock Island man.
At the request of Van Buren County Sheriff Eddie Carter and 31st District Attorney General Lisa Zavogiannis, on July 26, 2017, TBI Agents joined deputies and probation officers in investigating allegations of sexual exploitation of a minor by a registered sex offender. The investigation revealed that Robert McCormack was responsible for incidents of sexual exploitation of a minor that took place in May and July 2017.
On Monday, the Van Buren County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Robert Steven McCormack (DOB 07/28/1966) with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. McCormack was arrested at his home yesterday and booked into the Van Buren County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
