MEMPHIS – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit has resulted in the indictment, arrest of a Memphis man for the abuse and mistreatment of a patient.

In October 2017, TBI’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit began an investigation into the actions of Dominique Cooper, DOB 3/20/1985. Allegations at the center of this investigation occurred while he was employed as a Mental Health Technician by Methodist University Hospital.

As a result of the investigation, Cooper was indicted by the Grand Jury on March 15, 2018 for Assault and a violation of Tenn. Code Ann. §71-6-117 for the abuse or neglect of an adult.

On April 13, 2018, Cooper was arrested and booked into the Shelby County Corrections Center on a $10,000 bond.
