JACKSON – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Ripley Police Department has resulted in the indictment, arrest of Jessie Somerville for First Degree Murder and Felony Reckless Endangerment.
In November 2015, at the request of then 25th District Attorney General Michael Dunavant, TBI began an investigation into the homicide of Samuel Andrew Johnson, DOB 11/30/1989, that occurred at Keeley’s Entertainment Center located at 137 Watkins Street in Ripley, TN. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Jessie James Somerville, DOB 3/28/1996, shot and killed the victim.
As a result of the investigation, on October 2nd, the Grand Jury returned an indictment for First Degree Murder and Felony Reckless Endangerment. Somerville, currently incarcerated at the Morgan County Correctional Complex, was arrested on October 9th and booked into Lauderdale County Jail and is being held without bond.
