ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 1
DRUG INVESTIGATION DIVISION, TBI HEADQUARTERS

JOB DUTIES
Responsible for maintaining the Drug Offender and the Animal Abuse Registries, to include entering judgments that meet the criteria, auditing reports for any judgments not received that require registration, and removing offenders from the registry when appropriate. Maintains a familiarity with drug offenses and their eligibility for inclusion. Works with various agencies to assist in implementing the Automated Case Judgment system and to interface information regarding the Drug Offender Registry with other databases. Maintains the generic email for the Drug Offender Registry, and answers and makes phone calls to clerks’/district attorneys’ offices. Establishes and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for the Drug Offender and Animal Abuse Registries and gathers statistical information for reporting. Stays current with legislative changes and ensures they are implemented accordingly. Enters Tennessee Incident Based Reports (TIBRS) for the Middle Tennessee Drug Investigation Division. Assists in entering investigative reports and case documents into the Investigations and Evidence (I + E) database. Assists in updating federal asset forfeiture files, and updating and closing Confidential Informant files.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree; qualifying full-time increasingly responsible sub-professional experience or paraprofessional or professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $2,279- $3,644

CJIS SUPPORT SPECIALIST
CJIS SUPPORT CENTER, DAVIDSON COUNTY 

JOB DUTIES
Responsible for conducting National Crime Information Center (NCIC) training and providing assistance to law enforcement agencies with all NCIC related questions. Teaches NCIC Basic Certification, Terminal Agency Contact (TAC) Orientation, and query certification classes. Presents at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA), and prepares presentations for the Tennessee Information Enforcement System (TIES) Conference and TIES review classes. Prepares and reviews testing materials for classes.  May also provide training for law enforcement agencies across the state.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and one year of full-time experience within a criminal justice setting performing statistical analysis; examining criminal history and/or biometrics information; performing criminal justice information system (CJIS) program audits and/or training; or performing criminal justice communications work.

CRIMINAL HISTORY EXAMINER 1

JOB DUTIES
Responsible for performing entry level criminal history examination work, to include verifying and updating criminal history information for dispositions, diversions, fingerprint submissions, and/or expungement orders. Performs background checks for local and/or state law enforcement agencies, Federal Firearm Licensees (FFLs), attorneys, court clerks, employment agencies, and the general public in compliance with state and federal laws. Translates and explains criminal justice terms, processes, procedures, and documentation. Enters and stores descriptive data, fingerprint cards, deceased records, and background check results in appropriate databases.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Two years of coursework at an accredited college or university.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional experience in a criminal justice setting may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of two years.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $1,785- $2,855

CJIS SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Responsible for developing training materials, scheduling and instructing all classes for the Tennessee Incident Based Reporting System (TIBRS), including the annual conference. Complies with FBI and state audit requirements by maintaining accurate and complete documentation of each training session. Conducts training sessions according to TIBRS Rules and TIBRS Training Procedures.  Prepares and submits lesson plans for Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Commission for approval.  Provides technical assistance to law enforcement agencies, colleges, and universities for assistance with the reporting of crime incidents to TBI. This position requires proficiency with creating documents and presentations using Microsoft Offices Suite products and frequent overnight travel to teach classes across the state.

INTELLIGENCE ANALYST 2
CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION, FUSION CENTER, TBI HEADQUARTERS 

JOB DUTIES
Responsible for providing analytical support to Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies statewide and nationwide, in response to requests for assistance. Provides assistance in gathering intelligence in the following areas: AMBER Alert, Gangs, Human Trafficking, Missing Children, Sex Offender Registry, Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives, Criminal Investigations, and Drug Investigations.. Helps collect data and information regarding identified law enforcement areas of study for the preparation of publications. This position also requires significant knowledge and familiarity with products in the Microsoft Office Suite including: Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time experience in one or a combination of the following: 1) developing Intelligence products for homeland security, the military, and/or law enforcement agencies, 2) performing forensic financial examinations or 3) criminal investigations work.  Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying experience in one or a combination of the following: 1) developing Intelligence products for homeland security, the military, and/or law enforcement agencies, 2) performing forensic financial examinations or 3) criminal investigations work may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of four years (e.g., experience equivalent to one year of full-time work in one or a combination of the above listed areas may substitute for one year of the required education). OR Two years as an Intelligence Analyst 1 with the State of Tennessee.

SALARY RANGE:  $2,769– $4,431
