CHATTANOOGA – A fugitive on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 Most Wanted list, Christopher Christian Padgett, was captured Friday morning in Chattanooga.

Padgett was located early this morning at a residence on South Street in Chattanooga. He was arrested by TBI Special Agents, marshals with the U.S. Marshals Service Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force, and officers with the Chattanooga Police Department and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Padgett, 22, was wanted by the TBI and Chattanooga Police Department and was added to the Top 10 Most Wanted list October 7th. He had cut off his GPS monitoring device earlier this month in order to avoid standing trial in Hamilton County. Despite not being at the hearing, a jury convicted Padgett of First Degree Murder and Especially Aggravated Robbery.

Padgett has been transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
