Ten Men Indicted for Patronizing Prostitution from a Minor

NASHVILLE – An operation to combat human trafficking in Nashville, conducted by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and partner agencies, has resulted in the indictment of 11 men who are charged with patronizing prostitution from a person who is a minor.

From August 2^nd through August 4^th, TBI joined the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations, in conducting an undercover prostitution/ human trafficking operation in Nashville. As a result of this investigation, called “Operation Someone Like Me”, approximately 40 individuals were arrested or issued citations on prostitution-related charges. Each case was reviewed by the office of the Davidson County District Attorney General, to determine whether circumstances existed in which a subject patronized prostitution from an undercover Agent posing as a minor, under the age of 18.

On August 16^th, the cases were presented to the Davidson County Grand Jury, which returned indictments charging 10 of those individuals with Patronizing Prostitution from a minor, punishable under Tennessee’s Human Trafficking law (Trafficking for Commercial Sex Act). The following individuals were arrested by Metro Police, TBI and HSI. Each was booked into the Davidson County Jail on a $5,000 bond:
