JOHNSON CITY – A joint investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment of a North Carolina man on exploitation charges involving children.
At the request of 1st Judicial District Attorney Tony Clark, TBI Agents began investigating Rodrigo Navarro in April 2014. During the course of the investigation, TBI was assisted by the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office and Knoxville Police Department. The investigation revealed that from April 22, 2014 through April, 29, 2014 Navarro, 24, solicited children for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity.
On July 14th, the Unicoi County Grand Jury returned indictments against Navarro charging him with Exploitation of a Minor by Electronic Means and Solicitation of a Minor. Rodrigo Navarro was arrested today in North Carolina and is being held in the Rowan County Jail awaiting an extradition hearing. A booking photo is not currently available.
