JOHNSON CITY – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested and charged a Greeneville woman accused of fraudulently obtaining a check and depositing it into her bank account.
At the request of 3rd District Attorney General Dan Armstrong, TBI Special Agents began investigating Debbie Morrison on July 8, 2015. During the course of the investigation, with the assistance of the Greeneville Police Department, Agents developed information Morrison obtained a check from a business acquaintance on April 8, 2014 under false pretenses and deposited the funds into her back account.
Today, a TBI Agent arrested Morrison, charging the 57-year-old Greeneville woman with one count of Theft over $1,000. She was subsequently booked into the Greene County Jail on $2,500 bond. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
