MEMPHIS – Special Agents in the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit have obtained an indictment for a Memphis woman accused of mistreating a female patient in her care.
After receiving information from the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, TBI Special Agents began investigating Tenesha Benjamin on February 27, 2015. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that on February 8, 2015, Benjamin, a caretaker employed by ACA Communities, verbally and physically assaulted a woman who resides at the supported living home.
On February 3rd, the Shelby County Grand Jury returned an indictment for Benjamin, charging the 23-year-old with one count of Adult Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation. She was subsequently booked into the Shelby County Jail on $10,000 bond.
