KNOXVILLE – A Knoxville man who was added to the TBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted list earlier today was captured tonight, not far from the scene of the initial crime.

William Henry Leonard was arrested without incident after Knoxville Police Department officers received a tip as to his location. Officers responded to 1100 Townview Drive in Knoxville, where Leonard was located and arrested.

Leonard, 32, was wanted by the Knoxville Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to face charges of Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, and Felony Use of a Weapon during the Commission of a Kidnapping. Early this morning, investigators determined Leonard entered an apartment in Knoxville and demanded money from a male occupant. He then grabbed a female juvenile by the arm, threatened her with a firearm, and forced her to leave the apartment. The teenager, the subject of an AMBER Alert issued by the TBI at the request of the Knoxville Police Department, was safely recovered later Thursday morning.

At the time of this news release, Leonard was still being processed at the Knox County Jail. A current booking photo of William Henry Leonard is not yet available.
