NASHVILLE – A Ripley man who was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top Ten Most Wanted fugitive list last week is now in custody. Joe Montrell Reed was arrested in Decatur, Illinois, around 6 p.m. CST tonight.

Based on a citizen tip, Reed was located in a residence in Decatur, Illinois, where he was arrested by members of the U. S. Marshals Task Force.

Reed, 24, was wanted by the TBI, the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office and the ATF for charges including Robbery and Tampering with Evidence stemming from his alleged involvement in a December 10, 2104 robbery of a Ripley gas station. Reed also faces a set of state charges, including multiple counts of Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Felon in Possession of a Firearm in connection to his alleged involvement in a November 4, 2014 robbery in Lauderdale County.

Joe Montrell Reed is currently being held in the Macon County Jail in Illinois. At the time of this release, his bond has not been set.
