COOKEVILLE – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a Ten Mile man in connection to the death of a Sweetwater woman.
At the request of 9th District Attorney General Russell Johnson, TBI Special Agents began investigating the death of Coleen Francis Turner on April 10th. Earlier that day, investigators from the Meigs County Sheriff’s Department discovered the body of the 51-year-old woman at a home on Lefew Road in Ten Mile. During the course of the investigation, Agents, working alongside investigators from the sheriff’s department, developed information leading to Gary Wayne Ford as the individual responsible for Turner’s death.
On Monday, the Meigs County Grand Jury returned an indictment for Ford, charging the 57-year-old with one count of Second Degree Murder. Today, authorities arrested Ford without incident and subsequently booked him into the Meigs County Jail, where at the time of this release he was being held on $100,000 bond.
