The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation seeks interested and qualified candidates for the following two open positions.

INTELLIGENCE ANALYST
FUSION CENTER, TBI HEADQUARTERS

JOB DUTIES

Responsible for providing analytical support to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies statewide and nationwide, in response to requests for assistance. Specifically, provides analytical aid to law enforcement through the six designated TBI Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) programs: AMBER Alert, Gangs, Human Trafficking, Missing Children, Sex Offender Registry, and Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives. Helps collect data and information regarding identified law enforcement areas of study for the preparation of publications. This position also requires significant knowledge and familiarity with products in the Microsoft Office Suite including: Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time experience in one or a combination of the following: 1) developing Intelligence products for homeland security, the military, and/or law enforcement agencies, 2) performing forensic financial examinations or 3) criminal investigations work.  Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying experience in one or a combination of the following: 1) developing Intelligence products for homeland security, the military, and/or law enforcement agencies, 2) performing forensic financial examinations or 3) criminal investigations work may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of four years (e.g., experience equivalent to one year of full-time work in one or a combination of the above listed areas may substitute for one year of the required education). OR Two years as an Intelligence Analyst or Law Enforcement Information Coordinator (CID or CIU only) with the State of Tennessee.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $2,742– $4,386

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER-ADVANCED
INFORMATION SYSTEMS DIVISION, TBI HEADQUARTERS

JOB DUTIES

Responsible for designing and coding new applications or making modifications to existing applications. Provides user technical support for TBI’s ISIS case file management system and the associated statewide ISIS Online system. Designs and creates SQL and Oracle entities, including tables, stored procedures, indexes and triggers. Works with the TBI’s CJIS Support Center to create and maintain reports utilizing Microsoft’s SQL Reporting Services. Installs, configures and administers TBI’s software code management package, Microsoft Team Foundation Server.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and two years of professional level experience in systems analysis, application design, or software development of business information systems.

Substitution of a Specific Associate’s Degree for the Required Bachelor’s Degree: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Information Technology related associate’s degree may substitute for the required bachelor’s degree.

Substitution of Experience for the Specific Associate’s Degree: Professional level experience in the following area may substitute for the required Information Technology associate’s degree on a year-for-year basis to a maximum substitution of two years: systems analysis, application design, or software development of business information systems.

Substitution of Graduate Coursework for the Required Experience: Any additional graduate coursework in software development may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis to a maximum substitution of one year.

SALARY RANGE: $5,428 – $8,684
