COOKEVILLE – Investigative efforts by Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have contributed to a murder charge for a Fairfield Glade man in connection to his girlfriend’s death.
At the request of 13th District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, TBI Special Agents joined the investigation into the death of Tara Burnett this morning, shortly after deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department found the body of the 33-year-old in the Kingsdown Road home she shared with her boyfriend. During the course of the investigation, authorities developed information which led to that man, Matthew B. Howard, as the individual responsible for Burnett’s death.
This afternoon, authorities arrested and charged Howard, 39, with one count of First Degree Murder. At the time of this release, the 39-year-old was being held in the Cumberland County Jail on $1,000,000 bond.
