JOHNSON CITY – Special Agents in the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit have obtained indictments for a Greenville man accused of abusing a dependent adult in his care.
After receiving information from Tennessee Department of Human Services’ Adult Protective Services unit, Agents began investigating Dominique Godbout on March 24th. During the course of the investigation, which included the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, TBI Agents developed information that on March 21st, Godbout, then an employee of Sunrise Community Services in Afton, pushed a patient’s head against the glass window of a van several times with force. Agents also learned he later struck the patient several times on both sides of his head. The company subsequently terminated Godbout’s employment.
On Tuesday, the Greene County Grand Jury returned indictments for the 23-year-old Poplar Springs Road man, charging him with two counts of Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation of a Dependent Adult. Today, he was booked into the Greene County Detention Center, where, at the time of this release, he was being held on $20,000 bond.
