NASHVILLE-The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s recent fugitive, Nathan Lennon McCollum, was captured after two days of being on the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list.
In the early morning hours, deputies of the U.S. Marshals and officers of the Great Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force located McCollum in Morristown, TN with the assistance of Morristown Police at 1520 Goodson Street. He was located through routine investigative measures and taken into custody without incident.
McCollum was wanted by the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) for a Violation of Probation for Attempted Aggravated Kidnapping, Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Violation of an Order of Protection, several counts of theft and traffic charges.
On July 13, 2014, McCollum removed his GPS monitor after being discharged from a drug treatment program in Bessemer, Alabama. On July 14th, Chattanooga Police and TDOC located his GPS monitor in Chattanooga, TN.
McCollum was transported to Sevier County Jail and is being held without bond.
