The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the following open position at our Nashville Headquarters:

STATISTICAL ANALYST 3
MEDICAID FRAUD CONTROL UNIT

JOB DUTIES

Responsible for providing Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) Special Agents with Statistically Valid Random Samples (SVRS) in accordance with acceptable industry standards and proper scientific methods, to be used in the identification of potentially fraudulent medical providers and aberrant billing patterns. Collects TennCare claims data and complaint information, referrals from Adult Protective Services, and requests from the Prescription Monitoring Program to be tabulated, compiled, analyzed and disseminated. Manages the data collection and production of the Quarterly Report for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Assists in the compilation and analysis of data used in the preparation of the MFCU Annual Report for the State of Tennessee and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Maintains the inventory of all equipment assigned to MFCU personnel. Creates and presents data using Microsoft Power Point at annual conferences and meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree including, at least, six quarter hours in statistics, mathematics, and/or computer science and experience equivalent to two years of full-time professional statistical work. Graduate course work credit received from an accredited college or university in any statistical field, including but not limited to applied statistics or mathematics; social, behavioral, health, or life science; computer science; any business field, including but not limited to accounting or business administration; and/or public administration may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years. Qualifying experience in professional statistical work may substitute for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.

This position requires knowledge of several products in the Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel, and Access.

SALARY RANGE
$2,742 – $4,386
