CHATTANOOGA-A joint investigation involving the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation along with the Tennessee Meth and Pharmaceutical Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) HIDTA Task Force and the Pikeville Police Department resulted in indictments returned on 43 individuals by a Bledsoe County Grand Jury this past Monday.
Early this morning, 29 individuals of those 43 indicted were arrested without incident.The case originated from the TBI drug investigation unit in April of 2013. During an undercover operation, some of the numerous purchases conducted were of Schedule II morphine pills and Schedule III hydro-morphine pills, methamphetamine and marijuana. Drug buys were conducted at individuals’ residences and from their vehicles at pre-arranged meeting locations.
All those arrested were transported to the Bledsoe County Jail and have various bond amounts based on their individual cases. TBI received additional assistance on the arrests from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Tennessee Department of Probation and Parole, and the Sequatchie County/Dunlap PD SWAT Team, the 12th Judicial Drug Task Force and the 12th District Attorney’s Office.
