NASHVILLE-The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Maury County Jail employee on charges of Rape.

On March 23rd, at the request District Attorney General Mike Bottoms, agents began investigating James Ray Pitt Jr., an employee of the Maury County Jail.

After his arrest Monday night, the 36-year-old was formally charged with four counts of Rape. He will next appear in court March 26, 2014 in Maury County.

The investigation into Pitt continues, with the assistance of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and the Maury County Sheriff’s Department. Pitt is currently being held in the Giles County Jail on a $400,000 bond.
