JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today arrested a Sullivan County man after an investigation revealed that in May 2013 he voted in a Bristol municipal election despite living outside the city limits for six years.

Dennis Allen Foster, 50, of Blountville, Tenn. was indicted last week on one count of illegal voting, a class D felony. In May 2013, the Sullivan County Administrator of Elections brought information to the 2nd Judicial District Attorney General who requested a TBI investigation. Foster early voted in the election and falsely declared with his signature that he resided at a former address inside the city limits at the time he voted. He also signed, postdated and mailed a change of address form to the Sullivan County Election Commission acknowledging he no longer lived in Bristol city limits.

Foster was booked into the Sullivan County Jail on $2,500 bond.
