CHATTANOOGA – A former employee of a company contracted with the state to provide counseling services to juveniles turned herself in on charges related to having sex with one of the minors she was assigned to help in Monroe County after she was indicted by the grand jury. TBI investigated the case against her.
Last week, Jamie Tesoro, 29, of Knoxville, was indicted by the Monroe County grand jury on six counts of statutory rape. While employed by Health Connect America, a company that contracts with various state departments to provide services to juveniles, Tesoro began a sexual relationship with an underage minor she was assigned to counsel through the Monroe County juvenile probation office. The relationship began in December 2012 and continued until May 2013. The 10th Judicial District Attorney General’s office requested TBI to investigate in May of 2013. The Department of Children’s Services and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.
Tesoro was booked into the Monroe County jail on $25,000 bond.
