NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation removed Franklin County fugitive David Gordan Jenkins from the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the United States Marshals Service and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office wanted murder suspect, David Gordan Jenkins, age 46, for his involvement in the murder of Corey Nathaniel Matthews on March 24, 2013 in Cowan, Tennessee. Corey Matthews was found deceased in an open corn field off Johnson Cemetary Road. Jenkins was charged with First Degree Murder and Felony Murder.

On September 10, 2013, during an investigation, Lea County Drug Task Force members arrested Jenkins without incident in Hobbs, New Mexico. The Roswell New Mexico Marshal’s Office assisted in the arrest.

David Jenkins is being held in a Lea County facility pending extradition to Tennessee.
