Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today removed a West Tennessee man from the state’s list of Top Ten Most Wanted fugitives after he was captured last night.
Darius Deshun Mitchell, 25, was apprehended at his father’s residence in Ripley at approximately 8:25 p.m. by the U.S. Marshal’s Service. He was transported to the Lauderdale County Jail. Mitchell was wanted by the TBI and the Henning Police Department for attempted first degree murder. According to a witness, on March 23, 2013, Mitchell was seen chasing a vehicle and fired a gun through the driver side window hitting the driver of the other vehicle in the face. The victim was treated at the Lauderdale County emergency room and survived.
Mitchell had a lengthy criminal history and was considered armed and dangerous. He was placed on the TBI Most Wanted list on April 11, 2013.
