Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today arrested a former Lebanon Police Department officer on misconduct charges after a TBI investigation was presented to the Wilson County grand jury and an indictment was returned.
Steven Troy Gordon, 38, of Lebanon, was indicted on one count of official misconduct and one count of patronizing prostitution. In November 2012, the 15th Judicial District Attorney General’s office requested TBI investigate misconduct allegations that Gordon, who was a narcotics detective, was exchanging money for sex from a confidential informant. The district attorney was alerted to the allegations by the Lebanon Police Department. TBI was able to substantiate the allegations during the investigation and presented the case to the grand jury last week.
Gordon was immediately placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation when it was initiated in November. He has since resigned from the Lebanon Police Department.
Gordon was booked into the Wilson County Jail today and released on a $2500 bond.
